No Baby Yet

So my due date is here today and quickly coming to an end still pregnant. I will post some of the funny things Rylie has said lately to distract me from still being pregnant.

"Mom what will we do with Mason when Zach is born?" I think she thought we could only have one boy at a time.

When looking at a blister on her foot that had ripped off, "Mom look what Jesus made me out of. It's on my whole body!" Amazing discovery of skin.

Baby announcement coming soon (I hope)!

About Jacob

Jacob and I made two large purchases this weekend and throughout the process I learned a few things about my husband.
The first was a minivan. We tried to get all three car seats across the back of the Camry last week and realized how miserable it would be for kids and parents. Our purchase of a new car became a need instead of a want. So now that we live in the middle of nowhere, major purchases have to be made after hours of driving. We looked online and found our dream car in Phoenix. We made a quick over nighter to go pick it up. So after having the new car for four days guess who hasn't even held the keys yet. Yep, me. I am not complaining, I just find it interesting. After all I was the one who picked it out. I am not worried, I know I will eventually log many miles in the driver seat.
The next was a vacuum. Yes that couldn't have died three weeks ago when we lived in a real city. We had to add that to the list of things to get in Phoenix, along with diaper and wipes from Costco. This is what I found hilarious. When Jacob and I realized we would have to buy a new one he said,"Oh, good I know just what I want." My mouth dropped open. Jacob is very helpful, but the last time he touched the vacuum was to dust the inside of his computer. I made it very clear that if he was so picky about the vacuum he would be sharing the use of it a lot more from now on.
Interesting in how things work out.

Improvising

Rylie's Nana and Grandpa gave her an adorable bathrobe and slippers for her birthday and were smart enough to include slippers for Mason in the package. He loves the slippers, but when mom and Rylie get their bathrobes on in the morning he definitely feels left out. I had to quickly come up with something that resembled a bathrobe so we didn't have a melt down first thing every morning. This is what I found.
As you can see Rylie is thrilled with hers.
Mason not only looks just like his dad, but he acts the same when taking pictures as his dad did at that age. He NEVER smiles and is usually very grumpy about the picture. He is normally my happy child, but not during pictures. You can see this very clearly here. The whole time I was taking the picture he was saying "Way tired mom."

Welcome to Arizona!

I am back from summer (blogging) vacation. We have settled down a bit after months of travel and are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our little boy. Here is a little synopsis of what we've been up to.
Jacob started a new (temporary) job near Springerville, AZ three weeks ago. When we took the job we were told the project would be completed October 2009. After working for a week Jacob was told it would be complete March maybe December. I am hoping for March. We have a plan for the future, but I am going to save that, because it could defenitely change.
We moved Labor Day weekend from the middle of the city to the middle of the forest far, far away from Target, Sam's, and preschool. Our home is a furnished manufactured home (furnished in 50's furniture, an organ, dishes, records, decorations (all pink), towels, soap, you name it). Our stuff is in storage while we check out living in the 50's. We hear elk bugling every night and coyotes as well. Rylie and Mason find frogs and lizards everyday near our front steps.
Jacob hit an elk and we lost the Jeep (I have had it for the past 10 years, it was a sad good-bye). He has an hour commute each way to work, but is in a car pool, so I get to keep the car during the day.
I started Joy School with Rylie and Mason. I am hoping to find someone else to do it with soon, but didn't want to wait until then. They really love the attention from mom all morning (two days a week) and the great activities we do together. It has been easier than I anticipated to do by myself. We'll see how things go when the new arrival comes.
There is my little update. I did read all your blogs and try to comment, but my internet went out everytime I posted my comments so I gave up and just read the blogs.
